LULAC is victorious for the Latino Voters
Washington, DC – The League of United Latin American Citizens and the State of Texas negotiated a court order today in the special runoff election for Congressional District 23 allowing more time for voters to cast their ballots.
The court order signed by federal district judge Xavier Rodriguez extends the early voting period through Saturday, 12-09-2006. The court also extends the early voting locations hours to 8:00 pm for each of the early voting days. The order leaves it to the discretion of each county to extend both the time and the Saturday voting.
The League of the United Latin American Citizens, the oldest and largest Latino membership organization in the country, advances the economic conditions, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of Hispanic Americans through community-based programs operating at more than 700 LULAC councils nationwide.
