“Accusing Ciro Rodriguez of Supporting Terrorism is Absurd.”
– Congressman Silvestre Reyes, Member of the U.S. House Committee on Intelligence
San Antonio – Today, Congressman Silvestre Reyes, a member of the U.S. House Committee on Intelligence and former Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol expressed his support for Ciro D. Rodriguez and condemned Henry Bonilla’s reckless attacks.
In a radio ad scheduled to begin airing today, Congressman Reyes calls Henry Bonilla’s latest political attack against Rodriguez “ridiculous and shameful.”
“I had the pleasure of serving with Congressman Reyes, and I am honored to have his support. He is one of the most respected members in the House and I appreciate him speaking out against these irresponsible charges,” said Rodriguez.
Reyes is a Vietnam combat veteran and a 26 ½ year veteran of the U.S. Border Patrol who served as Sector Chief in the McAllen and El Paso sectors. Congressman Reyes also currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Veterans Affairs Committee.
In the radio ad, Reyes also states that “terrorism is too serious to be used as a campaign gimmick by a politician desperate to hold on to power – And making a retired FBI agent with a partisan background and shoddy internet research part of this attack, is an insult to the real FBI who is today, engaged in a real war on terror.”
