SouthsideSA.net launches website dedicated to Southside

SouthsideSA.net Launches
Website the first dedicated to San Antonio’s Southern Sector
www.SouthsideSA.net.

The Southside of San Antonio is home to many wonderful and historical things. The beautiful and scenic Missions, the Toyota Plant and the future site of Texas A&M San Antonio are just a few of the remarkable aspects that make this area unique. With the launch of SouthsideSA.net, the Southern Sector now has another unique facet--it’s own website.

SouthsideSA.net is the celebration of all that is great about this proud area of San Antonio. The website will feature Southern Sector weather updates, Santikos Mayan 14 movie listings, local business listings, school district information and political contact information. In addition, a local calendar, news powered by the Southside Reporter and a bi-monthly newsletter will be featured as well.

The site was created by and is maintained by Gabe Farias, local sports writer and Texas Sports Radio Network broadcaster.

“I have always thought that the Southern Sector of San Antonio is a town within a town,” Farias starts on the reasoning behind the launch. “It was time for someone to create an online environment that will help your everyday citizen who wants to find a pest control company or a movie listing at the Mayan or what the weather is like on the Southside.”

Farias’ main goal is to make this site very practical. “I truly want this website to be as good as it can possibly be,” he states. “This website belongs to the residents of the Southern Sector and I recommend and welcome any and all comments and suggestions on making this website as user friendly as possible.”

SouthsideSA.net will also serve as an internet high school broadcast medium. A Harlandale School District high school athletics broadcast schedule is currently being planned. These broadcasts are through a partnership with the Texas Sports Radio Network.

Another important partnership this website will feature is one with the Santikos Mayan 14 Theater. “The Mayan is one of the true gems of the Southside dating back to when it was the Century South,” says Farias. “Because of the generosity and the belief in this web product, Santikos has allowed us the opportunity to give away a significant amount of complimentary movie passes to the Mayan each month through our bi-monthly newsletter.”

It's interesting that the guy who writes this southside website lives on the northside.
