The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SAHCC) is in support of President Barack Obama’s announcement with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to take immediate action to ensure that credit gets flowing again to America’s small business owners.“Lending capital to small businesses to help them grow and become more successful is critical to San Antonio's economy,” said Ramiro A. Cavazos, SAHCC President & CEO.

The higher loan guarantees and reduced fees that this plan will embrace will help provide lenders with the confidence that they need to extend credit and will help small businesses recover and grow in during an uncertain economy.“Like the Hispanic Chamber, the Obama Administration realizes that our economic recovery will be driven by small business, and we are happy that the President has made this a part of his priority.

As the leading Chamber for San Antonio’s small business, we look forward to working with our member financial institutions to make sure that the Administration’s plan is successfully implemented in San Antonio” added Cavazos.

Aaron J. Seaman, SAHCC Chief Operating Officer as well as other Chamber officials participated in a conference call this afternoon with the Obama Administration, where details of the plan were further discussed.
