Project @ Basilica celebrates phase 1 completion

The Bexar Land Trust will celebrate the completion of the first phase of its Community Gardens Project at the Basilica of the Little Flower, December 15th from 1-3 p.m.
The celebration will be in the Gardens of St. Thérèse. Special guests will attend as well as the community partner groups who have created the beautiful rose and vegetable gardens on this site.
Invited guests include religious dignitaries, SA First Lady Linda Hardberger, SA Council members, representatives from Making Connections (an initiative of the Annie E. Casey Foundation) and gardeners from the three pilot garden programs.

- Celebration activities begin at 2 p.m. & include:
- A site blessing by Fr. John M. Suenram, OCD, pastor of the Basilica of the Little Flower
- Lighting of a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments made by children from neighborhood Lincoln Courts through the Urban Connections after-school program
- These children will have the opportunity to break a Christmas-themed piñata
- The Little Flower Children’s Choir will perform Christmas songs
- The St. Thérèse Girl Scout troop will attend
- The Basilica will be open for tours
- Refreshments
