SA First Presbyterian Church hosts interfaith service, 1-16
San Antonio's First Presbyterian hosted an interfaith service with Muslim and Hindus. A Sikh hymn. A Muslim greeting. A rich, brassy trumpet call from a ram's horn held aloft by a rabbi.
The sounds and rituals of other religions rarely grace the halls of First Presbyterian Church. But they were warmly welcomed at a service held Sunday that commemorated the life of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. by drawing together people of all faiths.

More than 400 people filled the church on a drizzly afternoon to hear Christian, Jewish, Baha'i, Muslim and Hindu speakers. The messages hewed to a similar theme - the world's religions and races have more in common than people realize.
