UTSA Freshmen move into new housing complex

Another 206 students added to 3,000 students living on campus!

What: For the second time in three years, UTSA will open another residential housing complex to accommodate the growing number of students requesting to live on campus.

In 2004, UTSA opened the 1,000 bed Chaparral Village. This week new students will move into Laurel Village, a $40 million, 680-bed state-of-the-art housing facility that is substantially complete and will house 206 students in Phase I of the project.

Phase II is scheduled to be complete Summer 2008. Gage Paine, UTSA Vice President for Student Affairs, UTSA soccer team members and registered student organizations will assist new students and parents as they arrive.

Move-in day kicks off two weeks of campus activities celebrating UTSA Roadrunner Days. Classes at the 1604 and Downtown Campus begin Wednesday, Aug. 22.

Time: 10 a.m.-Noon
Where: Laurel Village UTSA 1604 Campus

Directions: From 1604, exit John Peace Boulevard and proceed through intersection to next stoplight which is Walter Brennan Ave. Turn left on Walter Brennan Ave and proceed past Margaret Tobin Ave. intersection and turn right into Chaparral Village Parking Lot 1A. Laurel Village is located directly across the street on the left.
