Tejano Star hires Diana Arevalo as a publicist

Local political operative Diana Arevalo is now the official publicist for Rebecca Valadez, vocalist, songwriter & actress who will be travelling to Los Angeles in February to attend the Grammy Awards. Valadez has been nominated for Best Tejamo Album of the Year.

Valadez says she hired Arevalo, "because of her strong work ethic and a reputation for success."

Arevalo's experience includes marketing/public relations for the Tejano Academy Music Awards, Tejano Academy Fan Fair, U.S Army All-American Bowl, Bonner & Associates, Medusa Lounge and collaboration with DJR Promotions to bring "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Mario Lopez and Pilar Lastra from “Deal or No Deal” to San Antonio.

Her other accomplishments include: working on Capital Hill for Senator Ted Kennedy, served as a United Leader Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government and worked/managed several winning political campaigns all over the United States.

Arevalo says she is “very honored to be working with Rebecca, the hardest working woman in the music business.

Valadez has a history of working with professionals. Before she began her solo career, Rebecca recorded with Selena, Thalia, Shelly Lares, Jay Perez, collaborated with Naomi Judd, shared the stage with Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Ricky Martin, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Sheila E., Barrio Boys, Jimmy Gonzalez y Grupo Mazz, Luther Vandross, Ben E King, Brian McNight, N’Sync, 98 Degrees, and toured the word on the “Velvet Rope World Tour” with Janet Jackson.

Arevalo says, "I’m thrilled to be going to the 49th Annual Grammy Awards to handle public relations for Rebecca. I’m also looking forward to walking the red carpet, going to the various record label parties to network, and hopefully meeting Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake.”

Arevalo points out that when Valadez and she walk the red carpet, they will be wearing Couture gowns.
