"Thank You" message from Judge (JP2) Steve Walker

I wish to thank all of you who voted for me in the Democratic Primary for Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2. Unfortunately the votes were not there. It has been a privilege to serve you as Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 for the past 3 1/2 years. I still have seven months of my term left and I plan to continue to do what I know best for the job.

I will continue to re-direct students back to school, mandate they obtain a Library Card, and sign up for tutoring so they improve their grades and don't drop out of school.

I am not going away and will continue on my mission to ensure all our students receive a good education, walk the stage with diploma in hand and enroll in some form of higher learning a.k.a. college or technical school.

Remember, serving as a Judge is about being fair, listening to people's stories and making a good decision based on the law for justice sake. You don't have to attend Law School to be able to follow the law. It is all about "Common Sense!"

I remind students when I speak to them at their schools on Career Day or in the court, "it is not where you start, but where you finish." I also use the quote, "it ain't over til it's over!" and take to heart the adage, "Don't let anybody define who you are. You define yourself."

Again thank for the privilege to serve.

"Thank You" from State Rep. candidate Tina Torres

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thanks to wonderful supporters like you, our campaign is one step closer to the Democratic nomination for House District 117!

Last night, we secured 33.99% of the vote with 1,302 votes. The San Antonio Express News reported that we "trailed Cortez by a negligible amount" -- only 41 votes!

Now that we're set for a run-off in late July, we need your help more than ever. The next 62 days will be busy, and we need help block walking, phone banking, and volunteering in the office to ensure victory.

Without your help and support, none of this would have been possible.

We can do this!

Message from Dist. 35 Congressional candidate Sylvia Romo

Throughout my life, I have never taken the easy way and I have never shied away from a fight. That tenacity and desire to do something has led me down the extraordinary path on which I've traveled and I have done so with no regrets. When I announced my run for Congress last November, I was excited by the support of so many and the challenge of running in a newly created district. As the district changed due to Republican manipulation, it became clear that this would not be the race I'd originally anticipated. Still, I listened to my supporters and rose to the challenge. I am proud of the race we ran together and would not alter anything.

When I called Congressman Lloyd Doggett last night to congratulate him on his victory, I offered my support to him in November. I now ask you to make the same commitment. While this district is considered by many to be safely Democratic, we can leave nothing to chance as the issues the new Congress will face in January, 2013 are going to effect us all for generations. We need real leadership in Congress, not ideological lunacy.

I am satisfied by the results of the election. Neither Congressman Doggett nor I left anything on the field and we both fought with passion for what we believed. Now, that fight is over and it's time for us to come together to support our nominee.

Thank you for your generous support of my campaign and your courage in working to make South and Central Texas a better place.

In Unity,

/ssr/

Sylvia S. Romo

Thank You from Joaquin Castro on his congressional victory

Thank you for your help on the Campaign during the Primary!

I'm happy to share last night's victory with you, and I look forward to our work ahead.

As we turn our focus toward the General Election, I will continue to emphasize the need for our community to build out an Infrastructure of Opportunity so folks can achieve their American Dreams.

Thank you again for your support! Without you, we would't have had a victory to celebrate.

I look forward to visiting with you at upcoming neighborhood association meetings and community events, and I hope I can continue to count on your support in the coming months as we work towards victory in November.

Sincerely,

Joaquin Castro
