Texas DemVets endorse Ciro Rodriguez in run off

Former Congressman Ciro Rodriguez

By Larry Romo
Texas Demvets Chair

The Texas Democratic Veterans whole-heartedly endorse Ciro Rodriguez for election in the Texas 23rd Congressional District runoff on December 19th. Ciro Rodriguez has truly been an advocate for Texas Veterans as he has served on the House Armed Services Subcommittee with honor.

He has always been pro-active by having numerous bi-partisan Veteran's Town Hall Meetings during his congressional tenure listening to our concerns and working with us to find solutions to our issues enhancing the quality of life for veterans and their family members.

He has visited numerous Veteran Service Organizations and is a champion of our causes. Ciro has fought for more dollars to fully fund the Veterans Administration especially when it comes for our medical care.

Henry Bonilla on the other hand in 2002 before voting to go to war in Iraq, bought tens of thousands of dollars in a defense contractor stock, Alliant Techsystems.

He reported the stock buy in his wife’s name and also in 2002 and other years he received campaign contributions from this company’s Political Action Committee. The same year, he voted a 1.25 billion-dollar contract for Alliant Techsystems.

He is making money on his stock buy and vote for his family by using his political office. No congressman should try to make money off a war, this looks very unethical.

Ciro Rodriguez will do what is right for the military, veterans and their family members. Please vote for Ciro Rodriguez in the December 19th runoff.
