Ladies Call Court in Session!
2006 election shows women in key judicial races

San Antonio- What would Ann do? She would smile ear to ear knowing that Bexar County is stocked with women candidates vying for different judicial seats in San Antonio.

Touting slogans such as “Not your average Barbie” to hard hitting campaign spots that claim abuse of power in court; these women are ready to change the tide of a male dominated field. –But don’t think that they are qualified because of gender.

“The fact that I am a woman should not be on the mind of the voters. The issues are what are important, and I know that San Antonio voters can differentiate between the two,” states judicial candidate, Ina Castillo.

Castillo, who is running against an incumbent, is ready to take on old school politics and bring a new much needed change to County Court 5.

Scharf-Zeldes is quick to mention that her name may be misleading but she is ready for office. The fact that she is woman only increases her odds on Election Day.

Clearly all women on this November 7th ballot have strong voices and clear messages. We invite you to meet the candidates on Saturday, November 4th at 1 p.m. as they Get Out The Vote on the final weekend before the election on the Bexar County Courthouse steps. *
