BCDPNews goes independent of website, changes name to Walker Report, but keeps link

BCDPNews, a mainstay on the Bexar County Democratic Party webpage is now officially independent of the website. The name has also been changed a second and final time so as not to confuse readers. The first change was too similar to the YahooGroup name. It is now called the Walker Report. The link is still the same, however. You can check out the link, www.bcdpnews.blogspot.com or go to www.CiroDRodriguez.com and click on the BCDPNews icon.

In an attempt to increase the Walker Report readership by reaching out to independents and Republicans to embrace and espouse our political views, it is believed that severing the tie to the official local Democratic Party website, would allow more freedom of expression and the opportunity to discuss in an agreeable manner, issues facing the Democratic Party.

Currently as an independent link on the local Party website, the Walker Report is severely hampered by limitations by what some consider appropriate material to post. With a large committee of party activists involved in the direction of the blog, it is becoming increasingly cumbersome to function effectively and efficiently with so many competing voices.

Now that Democrats constitute the majority in the halls of Congress and State Houses around the Country, it is a golden opportunity to spread the Democratic message to everyone.

The goal to promote Democratic values, Democratic candidates and the Democratic message is still intact. That will not change. This is and will always be a Democratic blog.

This is not about compromising our integrity, our values or our message of inclusion. Hopefully the Walker Report will evolve into the place where ideas take root and Democrats excel.

The journey begins....
