"The House of Bernarda Alba" @ Jump Start, Blue Star

Classic Theatre's staging of "The House of Bernarda Alba," under the thoughtful direction of Jose Ruben De Leon, is a thoroughly engaging affair. The performances - led by Heidi Mendez as the forceful widow Bernarda Alba and Marisa Varela as La Poncia, the earthy maid who tries to speak truth to the old woman - are fully realized, and all of the design is first-rate.
