48 years ago Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his "I have a Dream" speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.
Editor's Note: As an incoming High School Senior that year, I remember seeing the speech on Black & White TV. As a former Speech Teacher, I have watched that speech hundreds of times with my students and still get chills when I hear it. Having stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial many times, I imagined being there in person would have been surreal. I spoke with Coretta Scott King in 1982 as a reporter for KENS-5 and later met Martin Luther King III a couple of years ago.
