Mayoral candidate Patrick McCurdy drew a crowd of over 250 people to Miller's Pond on Old Pearsall Road for a St. Patrick's Day celebration to announce his official campaign to become the next Mayor of San Antonio, Saturday, March 17th.

His announcement read more like a sermon that political speech and the event was reminiscent of a tent revival rather than a political rally. Quoting scripture and reminding his political congregation how the confrontation between Goliath and David ended in the Bible, he exhorted his supporters to go to the polls and vote early and change how city government works.

Numerous pastors of various churches throughout San Antonio attended, along with many from their congregations who cheered and applauded McCurdy for his promises to cut taxes and serve as a better role model as an elected official.

He also promised to visit each Council District throughout the year and listen to the concerns of the constituents.
