Spurs player Brent Barry and his wife, Erin, hosted a fundraiser for judicial candidate Peter Sakai, Wednesday, September 20th at their home in Terrell Hills that drew a large bi-partisan crowd to the event.
Sponsors included: Judge Nelson Wolff & wife, Tracy, Gordon & Maggie Hartman, Mary Alice & Henry Cisneros, Arabia Vargas, Edna & David Guerra, Charlene & Red McCombs, Mike Maloney & Molie & Bartell Zachary.
During the nearly 3-hour event speakers included: Erin & Brent Barry, Judge Nelson Wolff, Mary Alice Cisneros, & judicial candidate Peter Sakai who thanked his many supporters who attended.
Meteorologist Maclovio Perez served as auctioneer of Spurs memoribilia during the event.
Erin Barry who is a registered Republican said, "this is about the best person for the job, not about a political party." Numerous other Republicans who attended the event voiced similar sentiments.
Elected officials recognized included: County Judge Nelson Wolff, District Judges Barbara Nellermoe, Phil Kazen, District Clerk Margaret Montemayor represented by her daughter, Gina and Balcones Heights Councilman Steve Walker. Judicial candidate Ina Castillo was also recognized.
According to Sakai Campaign Coordinator Alice Guerra, " This campaign is all about experience, and Peter Sakai has that needed experience."
