"Road to Emmanaus" conversation sponsored by COPS, 11-12
Join us on
“The Road to Emmaus!” - a conversation about issues that affect our families,
and how to engage through civic participation.
The
Communities Organized for Public Service (C.O.P.S.)/Metro Alliance will hold its
annual assembly where we will celebrate our first half a million dollar
renovation to Fr. Benavides Park on the West Side.
There will be
hundreds of COPS/Metro Leaders representing our 33 member institutions.
Our guests
will include: Ernie Cortez, a founder of C.O.P.S./Metro Alliance, Vicar General
Fr. Larry Christian, District 5 Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales, Patrick Duffy of
The Office of Life, Peace and Justice, and other public officials and community
leaders.
The assembly
will take place Tuesday, November 12th @ 7-8:30 p.m. @ Fr. Albert Benavides Park, 1515 Saltillo Street.
“Our legacy
is one of action for our brothers and sisters in our neighborhoods,” said Joseph
Oubre’, Jr., a COPS/Metro Leader from Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. “We are
calling on our elected officials and leaders to join us and take advantage of
the opportunities to improve the quality of life for the families in our
community.”
