“No court is more likely to affect each and every citizen of Bexar County. You cannot escape it. Why would you ever need Probate Court? If a family member or friend dies, his estate would be administered through the Probate Court. If you have a parent who cannot make decisions for herself or handle her finances, you may need to seek a guardianship in Probate Court.
"If a child is orphaned, the Probate Court will appoint a guardian to make decisions for the child. If the government attempts to condemn your private property for public use, it becomes an issue called eminent domain which is determined by the Probate Court.
"If a family member or friend is psychologically challenged and may need to be committed to a hospital for treatment, the Probate Court will make that determination through its Mental Health Docket.” Added Scharf-Zeldes.
“Unfortunately, Probate Court No. 2 appears at the bottom of the ballot. Today we are launching the “Bottom of the Ballot Campaign” announced Scharf-Zeldes.
