Candidate Forum Night for State Board Members, 2-17




Americans United for Separation of Church and State Announces Candidates Forum Night for State Board of Education Districts 3 & 5.

The San Antonio Chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church and State proudly announces the Candidates Forum Night for the State Board of Education for Districts 3 & 5, Wednesday, February 17th @ the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 7150 IH-10 West, beginning at 7 p.m.

All registered candidates for districts three and four have been invited to participate. "The importance of this election cannot be overstated," said Americans United San Antonio Chapter President Eric Lane.

Stating "what will be taught to our children, what will be included in textbooks or omitted will be defined by this election and it is critically important that the voting public know where the candidates stand on these issues in order to make an informed decision."

The candidates will have the opportunity to state clearly their views, positions and why they are running for the State Board of Education. Each candidate will be given five minutes to introduce themselves and then answer three pre-screened questions.

Candidates who have confirmed their attendance include Michael Soto and Tony Cunningham for District 3, and Rebecca Bell-Metereau, Robert M. Bohmfalk, Daniel Boone, and Josiah James Ingalls for District 5.

This forum is free of charge and the public is invited.

Americans United, AU, is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to preserving the constitutional principle of church-state separation as the only way to ensure religious freedom for all Americans.
