Hello Everyone,

It is with great pleasure, to share with you the following invitation.

I have made it a personal mission, by virtue of my passion and beliefs, to "bridge the gap between the students of UIW and the San Antonio community." By doing so, I have initiated an opportunity for UIW students to interact with community leaders by arranging a panel discussion, followed by a student mixer, allowing the UIW students to network with leaders of various organizations, and acquire information regarding internships and volunteer opportunities available within each organization.

I encourage everyone to attend our first panel, "Careers in Non-Profits" on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the University of the Incarnate Word Mabee Library, followed by a mixer at 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Special Collections Room at the UIW Mabee Library.

UIW is honored to have the following leaders from the San Antonio community share their passion. Rosa Rosales, LULAC National President; Lauren Gordon, San Antonio Women's Sports Foundation, GoGirlGo! San Antonio; Jorge Alonzo Perez, Dance Therapy "Dance Away Your Depression" Inc.; Barbie Leal-Hallam, Big Brothers Big Sisters; Hugh Farr, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Lexi Pelayo, San Antonio Food Bank and Melissa Ortiz, Alzheimer's Association.

There will be a variety of panels to follow at the University of the Incarnate Word.

I hope that you will join us at the UIW Mabee Library on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 6 p.m. for our first panel, "Careers in Non-Profits."

Respectfully Yours,

Anais Biera, B.A.
UIW Alum '04
UIW Alumni Association Board of Director

Editor's Note: As a 1975 Master's Degree graduate of the University of the Incarnate Word, I encourage everyone to attend.
