Cleto Rodriguez launches Clean Comedy Fest, Labor Day
Five-day event features national-touring talent Labor Day weekend
Comedian Cleto Rodriguez is bringing clean, family-friendly comedy of the
highest caliber to Laugh Out Loud Comedy San Antonio August 29 through
September 2.
“Clean
comedy is a bit of a rarity. That is why we are very excited to bring some of
the best talent from all over the U.S. and Canada to perform for us right here
in San Antonio during the Cleto Rodriguez Clean Comedy Fiesta,” said festival
Producer Rodriguez. “The comedy fiesta will showcase a creative variety of
comedians from standup to improvisational to a magician. It will be entertaining
and it will be clean.”
Rodriguez
is bringing some of his close friends in for the special occasion including
talent showcased on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Late Show with David
Letteman,” “Chelsea Lately,” and various TV sitcoms. Scheduled performers
include: Carlos Oscar, Leanne Morgan, Henry Cho, Leland Klassen, Ken Kington,
Bob Smiley, Scott Wood, Ron Pearson, Johnnie W. and Cleto Rodriguez.
Clean
San Antonio comedians will be on the bill as well, including Tom E. Morello,
Walter Campbell, Roman Garcia and the Oxy Morons.
Rodriguez’
comedy has earned him time on HBO’s “Habla,” Comedy Central’s “Gabriel Iglesias
Presents Sand-Up Revolution,” Food Network’s “Outrageous Food,” SiriusXM’s
Laugh USA.
Born
and raised in San Antonio, Rodriguez has worked with comedians George Lopez,
Gabriel Iglesias, Carlos Mencia, Wayne Brady and Tim Hawkins. Rodriguez starred
in “The Cleto Show,” a weekly late-night sitcom based in San Antonio that aired
on FOX affiliate KABB. You can catch Rodriguez on his “Where’s Cleto” segments
weekdays from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. on San Antonio’s NBC affiliate News 4 WOAI
Today.
