SA Hispanic Journalists co-host an evening with Rick Casey, 1-11

The San Antonio Professional and San Antonio College chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists, along with the San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists, invite you to spend an evening with Rick Casey, (photo) a journalist who's been covering the Lone Star State for decades.

Currently the host of "Texas Week with Rick Casey" on KLRN, Casey only recently retired as a columnist with the Houston Chronicle. Before moving to Houston, he wrote a column for the San Antonio Light, and later the Express-News. Prior to his column, Casey reported in Washington and freelanced for the New York Times, the Washington Post, Newsweek and the Baltimore Sun. He's also edited the Seattle Times and two San Antonio magazines.

Join us in KLRN's studio @ 501 Broadway, January 11th @ 6:30 p.m. to hear Casey's stories from covering Texas and beyond. A light dinner will be provided, and a Q&A session will follow Casey's talk. In addition, we'll take nominations for the SPJ pro chapter's board.

You don't have to be a journalist to come. Price: free for members of SAAHJ, SAC SPJ or SA Pro SPJ chapters; $5 for non-members. Some parking is available in the KLRN lot and a lot directly behind the building; metered parking spots are located along Broadway and McCullough.
