25th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Interfaith Service, 1-15

25th Annual MLK Interfaith Service @ 4 p.m.

To host this event is a grand opportunity for the historic St. Paul congregation, who this past November celebrated 145 years of Christian service to the San Antonio community.

Rev. James E. Dorff, Bishop, San Antonio Episcopal Area, United Methodist Church has agreed to be a program participant this year. His appearance will be historic, in that no other sitting Bishop of the United Methodist Church has participated on the program prior to the 2012 service.

Other program participants include Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Stiller, Archdiocese of San Antonio; Imam Omar Shakih, Masjid Bilal; Dr. Rajam Ramamurthy, Hindu Temple of San Antonio; Rev. Dr. Marcus A.L. Freeman, III, St. Paul UMC; Art Hall, MLK Commission Chair and former District 8 City Councilman, and more.

The entire San Antonio Interfaith Community comes together at this service to honor Dr. King, including Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindu, Sikhs, Baha'i and Unitarians. The Chair of the MLK Interfaith Committee is Dr. John Abdo, a member of the Baha'i faith. His right-hand person is Judy Lackritz, who is Jewish.
