“The Change We’ve Been Waiting For.”

Brent de la Paz, candidate for Bexar County Democratic Party Chair, unveiled his new campaign website today at www.brentdelapaz.com. De la Paz stated, “What my campaign message highlights is that I understand that it is time to focus on a more effective plan for Democratic election victories.

We go year after year losing the county to Republicans in statewide races. On the website, de la Paz conveys his vision for the Democratic Party, broken down in a nine point plan for success in the 2008 election. He developed his plan after starting a listening tour of precinct chairs, elected officials, and community leaders wanting more from their Democratic Party.

The Change We’ve Been Waiting For-
Unite the party by focusing on a strategic plan and including Democrats from all communities and geographical regions of the county.

Run a modern coordinated campaign by micro-targeting and expanding the democratic base throughout the county.

Recruit qualified strong Democratic candidates to run on the ticket. Give them the research, communications, and other campaign start-up assistance that they need to hit the ground running.

  • Recruit more youth and provide more internships with the party
  • Fill precinct chair seats by implementing an active, ongoing recruitment strategy to double the number of current precinct chairs and reach the number we had just ten years ago
  • Work with party members to keep executive meetings productive and orderly
  • Have a professional staff to work with our current volunteer base
  • Develop and implement a strong earned media plan highlighting the accomplishments of our elected officials
  • Raise the funds to get the job done, including creating a permanent endowment fund and pursuing the donation of a permanent headquarters

After unveiling his new campaign website, Brent de la Paz stated, “I am troubled that elected official after elected official say they do not use the Party to help them get elected. Democrats are too smart to stand for the status quo for another two years. When it comes to issues like healthcare, education, and jobs, we have to know how to organize and win—the people of Bexar County are depending on it.”
