Today we are happy to announce our newest television commercial featuring one of the most legendary lawmen of our time, retired Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson. It is an honor to have his support for my campaign.

Ours is a nation of immigrants. No other nation in the history of this planet has ever been so welcoming to those who have sought a better life for themselves and their families. My parents, like many of your ancestors, came to this country to embrace the American dream. They did just that and today we are all Americans. However, they came here legally and in accordance with the rule of law.
Illegal immigration is a strain on our governmental resources and a threat to our national security. While many take advantage of our lax borders to find work, there are those that seek to do our nation and citizens harm. Every nation has the sovereign right to control their borders and the United States of America is no different. If for no other reason, we must secure our border to protect our homeland from those who would like nothing else than to cause harm to Americans and to destroy the freedoms that we hold so dearly.
We must give our Border Patrol the manpower and resources they need. We must empower our border sheriffs and municipal authorities to combat the problem of illegal immigration with proper funding. Our systems must be adequate to process the growing number of apprehended illegal aliens. Finally, we must fix our broken and bloated immigration systems to accommodate the legal immigration that our economy needs.
