Gina Ortiz Jones Democratic candidate for Congressional Dist. 23
Gina is committed to bringing her wealth of experience, informed perspective, and strong Texan values to Congress.
She believes that with the right leadership, every family in Texas should have the opportunity to succeed.
If elected, Gina would be the first woman to serve this district, as well as the first openly LGBT member of Congress from Texas. Gina is an Iraq War veteran who served under Don't Ask, Don't Tell.
She went on to serve in the Intelligence Community for over a decade, and wrapped up her career in the Executive Office of the President advising on economic and national security issues.
However, as important to Gina's story are her own experiences as a first-generation American raised by a single mother, and the criticality of the investments that allowed her to grow up healthy, get an education, and serve her country.
