January 6th Special Election Details
- Monday, December 22 at 5 p.m.: Deadline for candidates to file.
- Tuesday, December 23: Recommend date to hold ballot drawing.
- Tuesday, December 23: Recommend date to post notice for L&A test to be held on Friday, December 26 or Saturday, December 27 for use during early voting.
- Friday, December 26: Deadline to submit ABBM.
- Monday, December 29: Early voting begins.

- Thursday, January 1: New Year’s Day – Early Voting not Required
- Friday, January 2: Last day for early voting.

Polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Tuesday, January 6 at 7 p.m.: Deadline for a ballot by mail to be returned.
- Monday, January 12: Deadline for overseas ballots to be returned (if mailed from outside the U.S.)
- Monday, January 12: Deadline for a provisional voter that voted provisionally due to lack of acceptable ID to “cure” their provisional ballot.
- Monday, January 12: Deadline for VR to review provisional envelopes.
- Monday, January 12: Deadline for EVBB to meet and count any overseas ballots.
- Tuesday, January 13: Deadline for EVBB to meet and count provisional ballots.
- Friday, January 16: Deadline to canvass.
- Monday, January 19: Deadline to submit canvassed results to the SOS. (Recommend filing on Friday, December 16 to assist with Governor’s canvass)
