Gov. Perry appoints Albert McCaig, Jr. as Judge


Gov. Rick Perry (photo) Appoints McCaig as Judge of 506th Judicial Court

Austin – Gov. Rick Perry appointed Albert Marvin “Buddy” McCaig Jr. of Waller as Judge of the newly created 506th Judicial District Court, Grimes and Waller counties, for a term until the next general election.

McCaig has been in private practice for the past twenty years at a general business and litigation law firm where he represents a large client base including multinational corporations. Previously he served as assistant district attorney and special prosecutor for Waller County.


McCaig volunteers as general counsel to Waller Assistance and Restoration Ministries Inc. and formerly served on the board of the Waller Chamber of Commerce. He is president of the Waller Independent School District Education Foundation.

He formerly served in the U. S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve and Texas National Guard. McCaig received a bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and a law degree from South Texas College of Law.
