Scholarship recipients recognized @ SAAHJ Gala, July 31st

For nearly a decade now, the San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists has been awarding scholarships to Bexar County residents majoring in journalism or communication. Over that time period an estimated $100,000 in scholarship money has been distributed to promising students looking to further their education.
Established in 1986, SAAHJ is comprised of local journalists, public relations professionals and students interested in communications or the public relations industry.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring students with hopes and dreams of becoming a journalist or working in the communications field,” said Elaine Rodriguez, SAAHJ President. “It’s also an opportunity for SAAHJ members in radio, television and print mediums to pass along their appreciation and help develop future journalists.”
Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the annual SAAHJ Gala July 31st at the Westin Riverwalk San Antonio Hotel.
The deadline for students interested in applying for scholarships is May 24.
