Democrat Roland Gutierrez, the former city councilman known as a champion of vital public services and common-sense fiscal policies, will take the oath of office, Wednesday, May 14th @ 6:10 p.m.@ the Republic Golf Club, 4226 SE Military Drive as the newest member of the Texas House of Representatives.
United States District Court Judge Orlando Garcia will preside over the swearing-in ceremony. "We deserve the best public schools, public health, and public safety,"Gutierrez said.
"Those are the goals that form the heart of my candidacy to help the ordinary people of my district shape an extraordinary future for themselves and their families," he added.
Gutierrez is filling an unexpired term of former State Rep. Robert Puente til the November Election where he is unopposed on the ballot.
