Americans for Prosperity Guest Speaker Robert Novak

AFP has a busy year ahead of us, and I want to make sure everyone is kept in the loop about upcoming events. The first big one of the year is the Dallas Federalist Society Leadership School and Dinner, on January 31. We’re co-sponsoring this event with the Dallas Federalist Society and the Texas Public Policy Foundation. The keynote speaker at the dinner is Robert Novak. If you’d like more information on this, please email or call our office manager, Eliza Vielma, at evielma@afphq.org or 512-476-5905.

The second big event is on February 2, again in Dallas . We are co-sponsors of this year’s Remembering Ronald Reagan gala dinner, put on by the Ronald Reagan Society in Dallas . This year’s special guest is Michael Steele, of GOPAC. More information on this event can be found here:
http://reagansociety.org/index.htm

This year’s Taxpayer Summit is being planned for July, and we’re working on details even now. We’ll keep you posted.

Also, look for information coming up about this year’s national Defending the American Dream Summit in Washington, DC . Last year’s was a HUGE success and we’re looking forward to having another great turnout of grassroots muscle in our nation’s capital this year.

As always, Peggy and I are both available to speak to your local groups. We do have a form for speaking requests that you’d need to fill out and fax/email/mail to us:
http://www.americansforprosperity.org/includes/filemanager/files/tx/tx_speakrequest1.pdf. All engagements are booked through Eliza (evielma@afphq.org). At least two weeks notice is preferable.

Last thing and I’ll let you go. As everyone is hopefully aware, primary election season is upon us, and that opens up a fantastic opportunity for y’all to get involved with AFP’s work. We have a Taxpayer Protection Pledge for local candidates; it is our goal to get at least 200 candidates to sign this pledge (and if we can exceed that, we’ll be positively ecstatic!!).

We’re working from here on getting signatures from candidates for Texas House and Senate, but we need your help in getting candidates for local office to sign it. This applies to anyone running for any seat, from city council on up. We’ve even had a candidate running for Republican Party chairman in Travis County sign it!

I will keep you updated on events as they are scheduled. We’ve got trainings and seminars in the works as well the fun stuff, and I hope to see you all soon!
