Tuesday, January 29th from 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. @ San Antonio Police Academy, 12200 SE Loop 410
Reducing the amount of crime is one of Councilman Cortez’s priorities while in office. In order to get a better understanding of what it takes to fight crime, Councilman Cortez will participate in a full day of Police Cadet training.
The Councilman will experience first-hand the training cadets receive to become police officers. His goal is to ensure that the training techniques and equipment used are at or above the current industry standard.

7:45 to 9:45 a.m.
“Mechanics of Arrest” Training
This involves a warm-up run followed by instructions on arrest and hand-to-hand combat.
9:45 to 11:45 a.m.
Crime Scene Investigation Classroom Instruction
11:45 to 12:30 p.m.
Lunch
12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
