“I am excited to have him as a part of our growing campaign team and know that he will work well with the hundreds of volunteers who have already joined our ranks in our effort to take back the 23rd Congressional District for Republicans,” Canseco added.
Whatley said that he too was excited about joining the Canseco for Congress team. “Quico Canseco is a true conservative leader who provides Republicans with their best opportunity to unseat liberal Democrat incumbent Ciro Rodriguez in the 2008 General Election,”said Whatley.

“Rarely have I joined a campaign that is already so advanced. I have spent my first hours on the job visiting with the scores of volunteers who are clearly energized and excited about Quico Canseco and the clear choice he will provide to voters in the 23rd District,” Whatley added.
Whatley said that his primary job will be to focus the campaign’s efforts on drawing a clear and compelling contrast between Mr. Canseco’s beliefs in limited government, individual liberties, free enterprise and traditional family values with the incumbent Democrat’s liberal voting record in the House.”
Reinstating conservative leadership in the House has been a stated goal of Quico Canseco’s campaign.
According to Mr. Canseco, “the voters of District 23 deserve a Congressman who will truly represent their conservative values. Republican leaders here in Texas and in Washington , D.C. agree and that is why they have said that retaking the 23rd district is a top priority. The addition to my staff of an experienced and well respected campaign manager was the next logical step in this effort. I am happy to welcome Kyle Whatley on board.”
