Thank you for your interest in supporting Communities In Schools’ Stuff The Bus School Supply Drive! Through efforts of our supporters and community members, last year we collected over $660,000 in school supplies which were given to thousands of under-served students.Please check the boxes on how you would like to participate.

“Hold a supply drive at your place of business and CIS-SA will provide marketing tools for a successful drive. Complete registration and identify a Team Captain who will be responsible for organizing the drive and scheduling delivery of the 
new school supplies. 

Join our staff and organize a group of volunteers to collect donations at select San Antonio H-E-B stores on Saturday, August 4, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Volunteers will be placed at store entrances to create awareness about the drive and collect supplies from the community.

We would like to hear how you would like to participate in our school supply drive.

We are a network of passionate professionals working in public schools to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

Linda Molina to perform @ 10th Annual SA Area Foundation, 8-18

Dearest Friends and Family: this has been my summer project! I was invited to compete in the 10th Annual San Antonio Area Foundation’s African American Community Fund’s Dancing with the Stars at the Tobin! My professional dancing partner and I have been working hard to put together what we believe will be a fabulous performance!

I would love for you to join us! Or maybe simply make a donation—which casts a vote for me! While the money I raise gets me votes and helps me get seats filled, it is a donation to this organization. That’s a win-win for our community! My winning depends on 50% donations raised (both before and during the event) and 50% performance at the event. Doors open at 5 p.m. August 18 & 
you will get to see all the dancers’ performances, as well as other entertainment!

You all know me. And you know I am dedicated to serving our community in any way I can. You also know I love new challenges! And this one has been so much fun!

St. Rep. Roland Gutierrez Concedes Senate Race District 19, 8-1

Gutierrez Concedes Senate Race Following the reporting of a majority of the vote in the Senate District 19 special election, State Representative Roland Gutierrez conceded. Gutierrez stated, "We started in 5th place and came as close as you can get to making the runoff. I'm so proud of my team and grateful to the folks all over this district who supported us. My work continues in the Texas House. We're going to get back to work on our legislative agenda and make sure we are ready for the next session."

A word from St. Rep. Tomas Uresti candidate for Texas Senate D.19

I want to thank my family for the encouragement and support they provided as I traveled throughout the district visiting with hard working families across West Texas. Above all I want to thank all the dedicated men and women who made time to vote. 

In each community I visited I heard time and time again about the need for strong support of their children and the need for quality education.    

I look forward to continue to share my thoughts, ideas, and goals but more importantly am looking to hear more thoughts, recommendations, and suggestions from those in the district on how we can make our district more prosperous from everyone.

At end of the day we saw that negative campaigns and lies were not what the voters wanted for Senate District 19.  We ran a positive campaign and will continue to run campaigns about issues that impact the citizens of Texas.

I believe the Governor calling an emergency special election for district 19th in the middle of summer made it very challenging for constituents across West Texas to participate in their representative democracy. 

This is reflected in the relatively small turnout.  With a Senate district larger than 10 states and 50 countries, coupled with an extremely short election cycle, engaging with communities and encouraging them to vote was made much more challenging.  

Regardless I am thankful for the time I was able to spend with so many dynamic individuals and believe we will still have a role to play in the future.
