SA Tea Party hosts Armed Forces Day @ Camargo Park, 5-17

You won't want to miss our festive Armed Forces Day event honoring our local military and their families on Saturday, May 17, from noon to 4 p.m. in southside San Antonio's Camargo Park.

Several community organizations have joined together as the Southside Neighborhood Group to produce a patriotic and fun program for the entire family. Titled "Patriots in the Park," the event will feature a presentation by retired Air Force Master Sgt. Lonnie Henderson, the most highly decorated Comanche serving in the U.S. armed forces. The Highlands High School Junior ROTC Honor Guard will present the colors, and its drill team will proudly demonstrate its proficiency. Members of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club-Rio Grande Conference will be there with their trademark transportation.

A salute to the military will begin at 1 p.m. All current and former members of the U.S. armed forces and their families are invited to attend "Patriots in the Park." Important Update: One deserving member will be chosen as the Community Patriot of the Year for 2014.

The weather forecast for Saturday looks great! Bring picnic lunches if you like or sample a variety of food for purchase in the park. Soak in some sunshine in your lawn chairs or enjoy Camargo's shaded pavilions.

Camargo Park is located just south of Highway 90 (across from Wolff Stadium) at 5738 Castroville Road.

Enjoy the festivities on Armed Forces Day as we honor and celebrate our local military heroes and their families. We're counting on your faithful support to make this special event a great success. Please share this invitation to all your military family and friends.

See you at Camargo Park!

Yours in Liberty,
