Aphrodite or Venus appears more frequently in Pompeii than any other divinity. Powers discusses evidence for both public and private devotion to this goddess, including the wall paintings, silver cup and statues from Pompeii on loan toAphrodite and the Gods of Love from the Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Naples.
