Ken Lawrence is officially announced for District 8

With a promise to bring greater accountability to the district, Ken Lawrence is now an official candidate for the San Antonio City Council District 8. He declared Saturday, February 3rd. The longtime neighborhood activist says the district need more responsible economic development.

The 65-year-old Lawrence is retired from the US Air Force and also retired from working with special educations students who are diagnosed as emotionally disturbed.

President of the Northside Neighborhoods of Organized Development, he also serves as President of Hunter's Creek Neighborhood Association.

Lawrence told J. Michael Parker, Express-News Reporter, "I believe we should use tax abatement to attract new businesses, but we must hold them accountable for the money we gave him."
