An irate crowd descended on Agnes Cotton Elementary for a meeting, Monday, February 19th to debate City Councilman Roger Flores insistence that a turnabout be built in front of the school located on Blanco Road. Flores was not present.

Only one resident, Martin Leyvani was in favor of the turnabout while over one hundred parents spoke out against the construction of the turnabout and challenged Flores' contention that only a few people were against it.

SAISD Board Member Olga Hernandez told a receptive crowd that she would offer a resolution to the school board at the next meeting to voice opposition to the construction. She also pointed out that Councilman Flores never returned her phone calls to discuss the situation.

Former District 1 Councilwoman Maria Berriozabal who represented the school during her 10-year tenure on trhe City Council conducted the meeting.

Hernanez was interviewed by KSAT reporter Tim Gerber during the meeting.
