Clark Chess Team overtakes Antonian in overtime

Within seconds of a win over rival Clark High School, an illegal move in the 5th and deciding game, ultimately cost Antonian High School the High School Citywide Chess championship.
After the first four games ended, Clark and Antonian were tied at 2-2, two games apiece. The championship came down to the 5th and deciding game. With less than a minute left in the match, C.J. Agbanlog (Antonian player) boasted a 15 second time advantage over his opponent.

In what was described as a moment of nervousness, Agbanlog committed an "illegal" infraction by moving his king to the exact same spot three consecutive moves. His opponent brought it to the attention of the U.S. Chess Federation representative who witnessed the move, and ruled the game a draw.
The players were forced into a tiebreaker where Clark took the tournament.

Antonian High School coach Sergio Merluza's players included: Vinne Yanga, Charlie Majdalani, Adam Philips, C.J. Agbanog, & Matthew Trompler.
Clark High School coach Bill Jones players included: Isacc Cirlin, Michael Mezey, J.T. Green, Thomas Robbins & Jeremy Salinas.
