Balcones Heights has lost the annual Cowboy Breakfast to the Bass Pro Shops at the Rim. Coordinators say there will be better access and more room for the 30th annual event at the Rim to include a potential daylong celebration involving other retailers and more funds for the breakfast's scholarship fund, accroding to Vice Chairman Bert Mazac.

Mazac contends that the move will increase the Cowboy Breakfast exposure with the location and the pairing with a well-known retailer and give it a higher profile and more credibility than in Balcones Heights.

For the past four years, Balcones Heights, Crossroads Mall and Dave & Busters have been the site of the Cowboy Breakfast.
