Walker Report records 120-thousand hits since Jan. 10th

L-R: Close-up of Publisher/Editor Steve Walker

The Walker Report hit the 120-thousand mark @ 2:58 p.m., Monday, December 10th. The site meter was installed on January 10th of this year marking 11 months of tracking the number of viewers on a daily basis.

Since Walker Report's debut, June 16th, 2006, it is estimated that during the previous six months before the site meter was installed, at least conservatively speaking, 50-thousand hits occured in that time span, if not more. Unfortunately that is a best guess scenerio. Named the second best blog in SA earlier this year by a reader survey in the San Antonio Current, the kudos helped the numbers to rise dramatically.

With a link on Kathy Clay-Little's Internet African-American Relections, KTSA Talk Show host Chris Duel's website, Gabe Farias' Southside SA website and of course Editor R.G. Griffing's San Antonio Lightning Internet Newspaper that posts a number of Walker Report photos on an on going basis reporting on various happenings in San Antonio, it is no wonder that Walker Report is doing so well. It also helps when you have three other bloggers contributing. Thanks to Joe Solis, Robert Castaneda & my Middle School student from 34 years ago, Gladia Hollis Deering.

The Walker Report also reciprocates with links to those listed websites as well. It is all about networking and promoting each other. We would remind the viewers that all types of organizations are welcome on the blog. We continually attempt to reach out to various communities with different or opposing idealogies to post their information on the Walker Report. That includes the Muslim & Jewish communities, since we promote many Christian events of various denominations & non-denominations on the Blog.

We continue to promote inclusion rather than exclusion. As a continual reminder, our basic ground rules are no photos or ads promoting alchohol, cigarettes, unacceptable behavior, trashing or bashing or personal attacks on any individual or religious group.

Walker Report continues to be a family-oriented blog and children are always welcome to view the Walker Report. As a grandfather of four young grandchildren and 10-thousand former students, the Walker Report stays away from images that would be offensive to children. We post lots of photos of children on Walker Report.

Walker Report attempts to post photos that encourage, are uplifting and bring out the best in humanity. From Presidential candidates, CEOs, celebrities, sports figures, politicans from both sides of the spectrum &, every day working people, every face tells a story without the need for editorial comment.

Remembering the adage, "a picture is worth a thousand words" Walker Report attempts to let the photos do the talking. It is a much more descriptive way to tell that story. Having said that, this editorial is complete by saying, "are you ready for your close up Mr. De Mille?" (If you are a young person who doesn't know who Mr. De Mille is, ask a person over 60)
