San Antonio Current Editor Elaine Wolff spoke on the future of newspapers in the community. She pointed out that many large newspaper corporations are publishing local newspapers that address a particular need to certain communities and that regular newspaper readership is down.

She lauded Publisher Tino Duran who owns and operates La Prensa of San Antonio as one of the community based newspapers that tap a particular market. She also acknowleged the Walker Report Blog as one that meets a need for coverage of events and happening in the community that mainstream media normally don't cover.
