"If we are Women" playing at Steven Stoli Playhouse

Steven Stoli (photo)

"We think back through our mothers, if we are women.”

As Ruth says… "every time a kid is born, we start from zero.”

An amusing, moving and insightful discussion between women and their mothers about getting along with (and without) men, about finding roles in society, and about the impossibility of learning from someone else's experience.

Joanna McClelland Glass's play, set at a New England beach house, is a conversation among Jessica (Lisa Rodriquez), her farm-raised, illiterate mother, Ruth (Sandy Schwartz), her ex-husband's highbrow, Jewish mom, Rachel (Robin Early) and Jessica's 18-year-old daughter, Polly (Lauren Silva), about their various takes on love and life spurred by events in their lives. Directed by Kathleen Lovejoy. Contents not suggested for those under 17.

The Playhouse is in compliance with the American Disabilities Act and is wheelchair accessible.
