I want to recognize Dr. Lorena Gonzalez, candidate for NISD District 6 Board of Trustees who spoke at the event. District 6 is in the Northeast area of NISD and is home to the Clark Cougars, two middle schools, six elementary schools, and two alternative schools.

I know her very well and have been more than impressed with her credentials and experience. Dr. Lorena Gonzalez has lived in San Antonio’s Northside ISD for nearly 25 years and has been actively involved in educational leadership throughout her career. She has been widely recognized for her expertise in family, parenting, and community leadership program development.

It is also important to note that she is the only candidate who has professional experience in the field of education. In a district that is comprised of more than 60% Hispanics, in addition to her expertise, she would be the voice of our community. Currently, there is no Hispanic representation on the NISD Board of Trustees, the largest school district in San Antonio.

I encourage everyone to invest in our students and invest in our future but voting for Dr. Lorena Gonzalez.

It’s time to focus on the future of our students.
