Red McCombs to provide support for congressional campaign

San Antonio, Texas — The Quico for Congress campaign today announced the addition of South Texas civic and community leader Red McCombs to its growing list of supporters and key advisors. Mr. McCombs began circulating his endorsement (see below) several weeks ago among his considerable list of friends and business associates. Canseco is running for the Republican nomination in the 23rd Congressional District.

“I am very proud to count such a notable leader as a supporter,” noted Canseco.

Red McCombs is an important and vital part of this community who has long taken an active role in seeing that it is protected by good political stewardship. It is an honor to engender his confidence in my campaign and in my potential as a representative for the 23rd Congressional District,” said Canseco.

“I look forward to seeking Red’s guidance and counsel as a member of my campaign’s steering committee, especially on issues of importance such as economic development, job creation, and immigration and border security,” Canseco added.

Red McCombs said that he was proud and excited to lend his support to Canseco’s campaign for Congress and said the he felt it was vital that Republicans choose a Hispanic to carry their party’s banner in the 2008 General Election.

“Charline and I have given our support to Quico Canseco for Congress, District 23. A vast district running from San Antonio to El Paso by way of the border, it is 65% Hispanic with 57% Hispanic voting age population. Canseco is an attorney in commercial real estate. He serves on the board of Hondo National Bank. His wife of 28 years, Gloria, and he have a daughter and two sons. This district has been drawn to produce a minority representative and Canseco brings the values of business and family to the winning equation. I hope you will join us in supporting Quico,” McCombs said.

Quico Canseco is a South Texas business and community leader with interests in law, banking, and real estate. He is aggressively seeking the Republican nomination in the 23rd District of Texas to regain for Republicans the congressional seat currently held by
Democrat Ciro Rodriguez.
