Charlie Jones elected to Senatorial Distict 26 post

Local Democratic activist and attorney Charlie Urbina Jones was elected by Democratic Precinct Chairs to represent Senatorial District 26 to the State Democratic Party. The process is the same for Republicans who elect their representative to the State Republican Party. Democrat State Senator Leticia van de Putte holds the Legislative seat.

During the special election, State Rep. Rick Noriega spoke to the gathering to garner support for his bid to win the Democratic nomination for Senator to oppose Republican Senator John Cornyn in the 2008 Presidential Election.
