Community meeting on drainage with District 1 & 7
Councilman Justin Rodriguez speaking with constituent at recent Town Hall Meeting at St. Mary's University
Dear Friends,
Thank you for the positive responses to our first District 7 town hall meeting. The feedback we received clearly demonstrates that residents are engaged and eager to be a part of the 2008 budget process. My office is committed to continuing the open dialogue about issues affecting you and your family.
With that in mind, Councilwoman Mary Alice Cisneros and I are co-hosting a community meeting to address some of the drainage concerns that have recently surfaced in neighborhoods bordering Districts 1 and 7. In particular, we are requesting that city staff provide an update on the progress of current drainage projects including Laddie Place I (near Fredericksburg Road and Babcock) and Laddie Place II (near I-10 and Vance Jackson). In addition, representatives from Bexar County will be present to discuss potential funding for Laddie Place III, and there will be information available on flood insurance as well as maps of current and future flood plains.
The meeting will take place at the Salvation Army Peacock Center, 2810 W. Ashby Pl. on Thursday, July 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. For more information, please contact our office at (210) 207-7044. We hope to see you there!
