Why:
The exhibition “Interactions: Art by the Young and the Young at Heart” celebrates one full year of painting and other art classes offered at Bihl Haus Arts to residents of Primrose at Monticello Park Senior Apartments, where the gallery is located.

The exhibition features more than 100 paintings by Primrose Seniors done under the direction of master teacher Joyce Stache and Joyz of Artz. Also on exhibit are mosaics done in collaboration with middle school students enrolled in the Blue Star Mosaics program, fused glassworks executed with help from Jefferson High School art students, and works by others associated with the gallery.

Many works will be offered for sale; 100% of the sale price benefits our senior artists.

The exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, May 9th, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. An intergenerational performance, which begins at 7 p.m., features a dance recital by pre-K students enrolled in Ballet Folklorico de San Antonio and a performance by their teacher Felicitas Luna, a Primrose resident and Bihl Haus Arts volunteer.

A poetry reading of original works by Primrose Seniors will be followed by an awards ceremony to recognize Bihl Haus Arts docents and individuals who have contributed to the success of the Bihl Haus Art Program over the past year.
