Tourist Tax Grab

Tax and spend politicians and special interests consider tourists easy targets for tax hikes. Why? They can’t vote here!

The political action committee for higher taxes is spending $1 million to convince us that forcing tourists to pay more is necessary to be a “world class” city.

Should the tax hike pass, our tourist will pay the fourth highest taxes in the nation. This will leave tourists, who can still afford to visit San Antonio , with less money to spend.

$125 million for River Improvements

Former Mayor Howard Peak proposed a sales tax increase to pay for river improvements. It was soundly defeated by voters who believed the developers whom owned the land along the river should pay since they would get the profits.
$100 million for Rodeo & Community Arenas

Seventy five of the $100 million will go to the Spurs AT&T Center for future unknown improvements. Notably, the Spurs have already contributed $375 thousand to the PAC pushing for passage but are never mentioned in the campaign for the tax hike.

$110 million for Arts Centers

Most of the money will go to the Municipal Auditorium which currently seats about 5,000 people. It will seat less than 2,000 after the “improvements” are completed.

It's time for us to fight back and stop theis tax grab!

Vote NO!
