Lukin Gilland press release, Oct. 19th

The district took another important step toward unity this week when candidate Rick Bolanos suspended his own campaign to back Lukin's race for a new direction and positive change.

"Everyone agrees that Washington is a mess and the people who have been up there over the past decade have failed," Bolanos said.

"That's why America is going to put the Democrats back in charge on November 7. After all, America always turns to us when they need someone who can fix what's wrong."

Bolanos ran a strong campaign highlighting his support for veterans' issues and the need to restore balance and integrity in the nation's capital.

"I know this decision was tough for Rick and his family," Lukin said. "And I appreciate the fact that he is putting the need for change in Washington above his own personal ambition. If Henry Bonilla were capable of that kind of selfless insight, this race wouldn't be necessary."

Gilliland and Bolanos will be barnstorming through West Texas this weekend.

Bolanos moves from El Paso to San Antonio and rents in a place outside of the 23rd District. Lukin lives in Alamo Heights.

Bolanos has not raised any money to compete "against the big boys" (his words).

So he goes to the guy with the money, who has given $10K to Ruben Tejeda's family, and $7.5K to Robert Tejeda's wife. Do you think he didn't get money also?

In the words of my great-grandfather "se vendio"! Oh well, Bolanos' 1% won't transfer to Lukin as easily as Lukin's check did to Rick...

Jo Ann Ramon is a smart woman. Who else can get $67,500 from a candidate while having a losing record over the last few years, except for Comm. Adkinson. You go girl!

Oh my gosh !!! What a crock....
Just saw the news. Shall we say so much? Everyone knows that(Lukin) a guy from Alamo Heights has the money and would like to buy us.I believe he just bought Bolanos. It's sad that we see that some are reverting back to the old days of the patron system. What's next? Oh the elected officials.
